Use of Facilities

Various community groups and individuals use building and grounds at CPC Mountainside. The church is available for weddings and memorial services, as well as other community events.

Building Use

As a community church, CPC offers its facilities and grounds to members and non-members alike for ceremonies such as weddings, funerals, and memorial services. The space can also be used for events such as a music recital (sanctuary), baby/bridal shower, family reunion, or other social event. The most commonly requested space is the Assembly Room, with or without use of the kitchen. The Memorial Room and Sanctuary are also available for request. The church's facilities are available to church members, as well as to community groups and private citizens. Use of the facilities is at the discretion of the Trustees.

Our facilities are in regular use by local community organizations in the Mountainside and Westfield area. In addition to our Nursery School, the church sponsors the local Boy Scout Troops.  We are also pleased to provide space for the local Alcoholics Anonymous group and for the NJ Potters' Guild show and sale.

Weddings

The church's beautiful facilities and grounds are serenely suited for weddings. A wedding is one of the most important events in a person's life! Because of its religious nature, a wedding in the church should be carefully planned and a spirit of reverence should mark the entire service.

For a downloadable resource on weddings at CPC, see Wedding Policy for CPC.

The minister's approval is required before a wedding may be held in the Church, and arrangements should be made with the Administrative Assistant in the Church Office. The couple is expected to meet with the pastor for premarital counseling.

Application should be made for a license at least two weeks before the desired wedding date. The license should be presented to the minister at the rehearsal, the time of which should be arranged with the minister.
